AffordAbility Fund Related Phone Scam

AFFORDABILITY FUND RELATED PHONE SCAM

Please be advised we have received reports of a phone SCAM related to the Affordability Fund program. The caller is reaching out to previously qualified customers, asking for information such as the value of your home.

Please note that once you have qualified for the program, AFT will NOT call you again, and will never ask you the value of your home. AFT will only ask you for your household income and annual electricity costs, and then re-direct you to your local distribution company (PUC Services) or the Home Assistance Program (HAP).

If you receive one of these calls, please contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501. If you’d like to speak with someone at PUC for the status of your application, please contact our customer care team at 705-759-6522.
