In an effort to keep customers informed on the upcoming rebuild of a neighbourhood substation, PUC is inviting customers to participate in a Community Information Night. The come-and-go style event is scheduled for Sept. 18, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at PUC’s main office (500 Second Line E.).
“We value customers input,” says Giordan Zin, Manager of Customer Engagement and Corporate Communications, “and are excited to share what we have planned for this vital piece of our city’s electricity distribution system.”
The substation identified for replacement is substation-16, located on Third Line behind Prouse Motors. The current substation supplies power to approximately 2,400 customers and services a large portion of the city’s north end.
The new substation will replace the existing substation that has reached the end of its useful life. The construction phase of the substation rebuild is set to begin in the spring of 2020.
As part of the information session, PUC will deliver a presentation outlining how the rebuild will affect customers in the area, the benefits of an upgraded substation, and the project timeline. The evening will also include a Question and Answer period, where customers will have the opportunity to ask PUC representatives questions about the project.
Join us on Sept. 18 for an information session to understand the importance of this substation rebuild, and what PUC is doing to ensure our community has a safe and reliable electricity distribution system.
