Starting May 1st, PUC Distribution Inc. received approval from the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) to increase distribution rates. This rate increase will help PUC maintain the reliability of the power grid and repair aging infrastructure. New rates can be found here https://ssmpuc.com/electricity/rates/. Today marks the end of the winter disconnection ban for residential customers. Customers who are in arrears may have already received a disconnection notice from their distributor in April and should know that there are rules and programs in place to protect them.
