PUC Services Inc. operates multiple utilities within and around the City of Sault Ste. Marie, including the supply and delivery of electricity and drinking water, and energy services and the treatment of water and wastewater.

As the Field Service Representative, your duties will include:

  • Perform a variety of activities to research and locate underground electric and water facilities utilizing drawings and technical records and electronic cable and pipe detection equipment;
  • Prepare and complete drawings and underground field locates for excavators using computerized tools and systems;
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records;
  • Identify document and report discrepancies in operating records;
  • Prepare meter locate service layouts and installation orders for sentinel lights and residential service connections;
  • Respond to customer inquiries or complaints; and
  • Adhere to all applicable policies, procedures, regulations and standards as prescribed by legislation or the company.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a post-secondary diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent which is a combination of relevant education and related experience normally acquired by working in an electrical engineering, electrical industrial or electrical utility workplace for a minimum of 5 years;
  • Must hold and maintain a valid Ontario driver’s license;
  • Sound working knowledge of engineering principles related to electrical or water distribution facilities;
  • Ability to safely use a variety of electronic and mechanical equipment;
  • Ability to work independently and to take initiative;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; and
  • Ability to operate computerized systems.
