Financial Assistance

As your community utility services company, PUC is here to help when life throws you a curve ball.  

There are programs available that can help you manage your energy bills, so that you can continue to focus on what really matters. 

If you need help accessing any of the programs listed below, please reach out to our Customer Experience Team at customer.experience@ssmpuc.com or 705-759-6522. 


  • The Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP), enables eligible low-income customers to receive a fixed monthly credit on their electricity bills. 
     
  • The Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP), provides emergency financial assistsance to eligible low-income customers. 
     
  • The Energy Affordability Program (EAP) helps qualified homeowners, tenants and social and/or assisted housing providers improve their energy efficiency of their homes. 
     
  • The Housing Stability Bank (HSB) facilitated by Ontario Works is available for PUC customers who qualify. NOTE: Customers do not need to be an Ontario Works recipient to qualify. Please contact 705-759-2130 for more information.
