PUC Invites the Public to Learn More about Canada’s First Community-Wide Smart Grid Project

Sault Ste. Marie, ON (September 14, 2022) – On September 21st, PUC Services Inc. (PUC) will be hosting an open house to share updates on its historic and transformative Sault Smart Grid (SSG) Project.

Construction is now underway across Sault Ste. Marie on this innovative initiative that will bring several benefits to PUC Distribution customers once operational in 2023. PUC invites members of the public to learn more about the project and the positive impacts it will have on both themselves as customers, and the community at large.

By implementing the first community-wide smart grid project in Canada, PUC has become a leader and inspiration to other communities across the country when it comes to innovation and modernization of an electrical grid.

The state-of-the-art system will improve efficiency, thereby reducing the frequency and duration of power outages, and, on average, saving residential customers money on their monthly bills.

PUC Staff will be on hand to provide up to date information, and answer any questions customers may have.

What: Sault Smart Grid (SSG) Open House When: Wednesday, September 21st 4:30pm – 7:30pm Where: PUC Services Inc., 500 Second Line East

Those who attend will be entered into a draw to win a $100 PUC bill credit.
