During July and August, PUC ran a paperless billing campaign. The goal of the campaign was to offer customers a secure and convenient alternative to paper bills, while at the same time supporting student nutrition in the community. During the campaign, PUC donated $5 to Algoma Family Services Student Nutrition Program for each customer that signed up for e-billing.
With a total of 460 new e-billing subscribers, PUC was able to donate $2,300 to the Student Nutrition Program, supporting the delivery of healthy; breakfasts, lunches, and snacks to students across the Algoma District.
In Sault Ste. Marie, the Student Nutrition Program, has served more than 535,000 meals to approximately 3,500 students in the 2018/2019 school year. Student Nutrition programs are run by dedicated school staff, parent and community volunteers, and we are happy to support such an outstanding program.
