Public Call for Board of Director Applications

PUC Services Inc. is a multi-utility services company operating as a wholly owned private company of the Corporation of the City of Sault Ste. Marie and is incorporated under the Ontario Business Corporations Act. PUC Services manages the assets and business of PUC Distribution Inc. (the local electricity distribution company), manages and operates the city’s water treatment and distribution system, and operates the City’s wastewater treatment plants under multi-year contracts.

 

BOARD MEMBER RECRUITMENT 2018

The Governance Committee of the Board of PUC Services Inc. is currently seeking candidates for positions on the PUC Inc. and PUC Services Inc. Board of Directors as well as PUC Distribution Inc. Board of DirectorsThe ideal candidates will have strong business acumen, knowledge of corporate governance, customer care, finance, risk management, and will have entrepreneurial expertise to guide the future of PUC Services. Familiarity with public policy issues and experience in the energy, water, or related industries is also desirable.

 

Terms and Location

Board members will serve for a term of up to three years, with eligibility for reappointment for a second consecutive term up to three years.  These roles are part time and based in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

PUC Services is seeking candidates that strongly match the following criteria:

  • A resident of Sault Ste. Marie and Area;
  • Customer Care expertise on a strategic level;
  • Strong Board experience;
  • Experience in business growth and development;
  • Demonstrate integrity and high ethical standards;
  • Strong business background, including competitive business experience and strategic planning;
  • A strong financial background;
  • Industry sector experience;
  • An understanding of the role of PUC Services Inc. as a service to the local community and as an asset to taxpayers.
