Work Planner

Line Operations

PUC Services Inc. operates multiple utilities within and around the City of Sault Ste. Marie, including the supply and delivery of electricity and drinking water, energy services and the treatment of water and wastewater.

As the Work Planner, Line Operations your duties will include:

  • Support the Supervisor in a variety of activities to deploy available staff, material and equipment required to maintain, operate and construct electrical facilities.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate work projects to maintain stable supply of power to customers.
  • Maintain the computerized work management systems for Line Operations.
  • Coordinate and direct the activities of contractors.
  • Inspect distribution systems as required to meet OEB requirements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of procedures and practices.
  • Assist in the preparation of budget.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Secondary diploma in combination with successful completion of Post- Secondary AC Circuits and Machines Course, or equivalent.
  • Hold and maintain MEA or EUSA Powerline Technician Certification.
  • Hold and maintain an AZ Ontario’s driver’s license.
  • Sound working knowledge of PUC’s electrical power systems, controls and related components.
  • Strong knowledge of related legislation, codes, standards, and practices.
  • Strong computer skills with an understanding of advanced computer systems.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management, and oral/written communication skills.
