Work Planner

Water Distribution Operations

PUC Services Inc. operates multiple utilities within and around the City of Sault Ste. Marie, including the supply and delivery of electricity and drinking water, energy services and the treatment of water and wastewater.

As the Work Planner, Water Distribution Operations your duties will include:

  • Support the Supervisor in a variety of activities to efficiently deploy available staff, material and equipment required to maintain, operate and construct water facilities.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate work projects to maintain stable supply of water to customers.
  • Maintain the computerized work management systems for Water Distribution Operations.
  • Assist in the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the DWQMS program.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of contingency plans, procedures and practices.
  • Coordinate and direct the activities of contractors.
  • Ensure tactful and courteous interactions with customers.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Secondary School Diploma.
  • Class II Water Distribution System License, or a comparable license, is an asset.
  • Hold and maintain a DZ Ontario driver’s license.
  • Sound working knowledge of PUC’s water distribution system, operation, and related components.
  • Strong knowledge of related legislation, codes, standards, and practices.
  • Strong computer skills to operate advanced computer systems.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management, and oral/written communication skills.
