           NOTICE OF JOB VACANCY

        FIELD SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

   CDM, FLEET, FACILITIES & FIELD SERVICES

PUC Services Inc. operates multiple utilities within and around the City of Sault Ste. Marie, including the supply and delivery of electricity, drinking water, provision of telecommunications, energy services and the treatment of water and wastewater.

Qualifications:

  • At minimum, a post-secondary diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent which is a combination of relevant education and related experience acquired by working in an electrical engineering, electrical industrial or electrical utility workplace for a minimum of 5 years; 
  • Hold and maintain a valid Ontario’s driver’s license;
  • Sound working knowledge of engineering principles related to overhead and underground facilities
  • Good analytical skills, coupled with your strong technical skills, will assist in providing utility services, for primarily residential customers, locating underground facilities and assisting in maintaining accurate, up-to-date operating records;
  • Strong communication skills are used both at the internal and external level with a need to communicate technical knowledge in a tactful and persuasive manner;
  • Ability to safely use a variety of electronic and mechanical equipment; and
  • Ability to work independently and to take initiative.

 

Job  duties:

  • Adhere to all applicable policies, guidelines, procedures, work methods, regulations and standards, including health and safety requirements prescribed by legislation, E&USA and company policies;
  • Perform public relations fieldwork regarding service interruptions, new projects, reconstruction and extension of lines and customer surveys and activities regarding energy and water conservation programs;
  • Identify document and report discrepancies in operating records discovered in the field for the purpose of maintaining accurate and up to date records; and
  • Interact with the public, external agencies and authorities, suppliers, contractors and staff in a manner that shall result in positive acts and actions.
